Forestville is an unincorporated census-designated place located in Hamilton County, Ohio. As of the 2000 census, the community had a total population of 10,978.

Geography

Forestville is located at 39°4'15" North, 84°20'13" West (39.070853, -84.337037)¹.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the community has a total area of 9.5 km² (3.7 mi²). 9.5 km² (3.7 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Demographics

As of the census² of 2000, there are 10,978 people, 4,368 households, and 2,948 families residing in the community. The population density is 1,151.8/km² (2,981.7/mi²). There are 4,503 housing units at an average density of 472.5/km² (1,223.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the community is 95.72% White, 0.87% African American, 0.05% Native American, 2.22% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.31% from other races, and 0.82% from two or more races. 1.06% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 4,368 households out of which 34.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.3% are married couples living together, 8.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 32.5% are non-families. 29.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 16.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.49 and the average family size is 3.12.

In the community the population is spread out with 27.1% under the age of 18, 5.8% from 18 to 24, 26.9% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 16.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 39 years. For every 100 females there are 86.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 82.7 males.

The median income for a household in the community is $57,850, and the median income for a family is $76,020. Males have a median income of $56,488 versus $36,493 for females. The per capita income for the community is $30,493. 3.6% of the population and 2.5% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 3.9% of those under the age of 18 and 6.5% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
