Taiwan's presidential election in March 2000 was the culmination of Taiwan's path to democratization. Although Taiwan has become a full democracy, this does not guarantee the right of its 23 million people to enter into international organizations. As a proponent of democracy in Taiwan, FAPA believes that all residents of Taiwan must have equal rights and share equal responsibilities with the rest of the world.
