The Forsaken are a group of Undead independent of the Lich King in the Warcraft Universe. The Forsaken split off from the Lich King when their ruler, Sylvanas Windrunner broke free of the Lich King's grasp and began freeing other Undead, and returning them their free will. The Forsaken currently maintain a tenuous alliance with the Horde.
History The Forsaken began when the Dark Queen, former High Elf Sylvanas Windrunner broke free from the Lich King. The struggling High Elf, given back her corpral form, began to amass an army using her possessive powers. Eventually she began to amass an army pulled straight out of the Scourge's ranks. She eventually allied with the dreadlord Varimathras and took over a homeland from the residing Humans and Scourge armies.
Forsaken lands The Forsaken lands are not yet large, as the Forsaken are a reletively new race on Azeroth. The Forsaken have complete control over the Tirisfal Glades and the former capital of Lordaeron, which has been converted into the Forsaken captial, the Undercity. They have begun to strike claims in the Hillsbrad Foothills, and almost have complete control over the Silverpine Forest region.
The Forsaken's place in Azeroth Spoiler warning: Plot or ending details follow. The Forsaken show complete respect and almost servitude to the Dark Lady. This, however, cannot be said about the Horde, which they allied with only out of necessety to the Forsaken. The Forsaken have begun a project headed by the Royal Apothecary Society and the Apothecary Farranel to construct a new plague to wipe out all of humanity and their arch-rivals, the Scourge. So far, the Society has not yet produced results. |
