The Fort Harrison is a luxury hotel that seves as the flagship building of Flag land base, the church of scientologys spirtual headquaters in clearwater florida.


Opened in 1926, the Fort Harrison served as Clearwaters most luxurious hotel and served as a focual point of the community during the great depression and world war II.


The hotel beagn to fall into despair by the 1970s and in 1975 the Church of Scientology purchased the building.


In the 1980's the building came back to a state of good repair including restoration of its marble floors and art deco details and craftmanship.



Today the hotel serves as a religious retreat, providing luxurious accomidations and course rooms and auditing rooms as parishioners study in the highest levels of training to become auditors and the highest levels of auditing up to NEW OT VII. And once parishioners have attained that level, Scientologists are then routed to the Freewinds for NEW OT VIII.


In the future, the Fort Harrison will be joined by walkway to a new addition of the complex. With the new FLAG mecca building and the delivery of Super Power, the Fort Harrison will be converted to a hotel once again.

He brought his new bride to the Fort Harrison for their honeymoon in 1955.
By the end of the decade, a thoroughly modernized Fort Harrison moved forward into the next decade with a facelift and even a new name.
