The Fort Worth Convention Center includes an 11,200-seat multi-purpose arena in Fort Worth, Texas. It was home to the Fort Worth Brahmasice hockey team in the CHL and currently the Fort Worth Flyersbasketball team in the NBA Development League. Formerly known as the Tarrant County Convention Center, the building was home to the Fort Worth Fire ice hockey team in the mid 90's as well as the Arena Football League'sFort Worth Cavalry in 1994. At one time it was also the temporary home of the San Antonio Spurs. For a time it also hosted home games for the Dallas Chaparrals of the American Basketball Association. They actually began play in the Western Professional Hockey League when the CHL's FortWorth Fire were still in operation.
The Fire eventually ceased operations, and the CHL did not have a team in FortWorth until the merger with the WPHL.
Due to problems negotiating a lease with the FortWorthConventionCenter, the Brahmas announced on May 3, 2006 that they would suspend operations for the 2006-07 season.
