Fortuna is a city located in Divide County, North Dakota. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 31.

Geography

Fortuna is located at 48°54'40" North, 103°46'27" West (48.911016, -103.774263)¹.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.6 km² (1.0 mi²). 2.6 km² (1.0 mi²) of it is land and 0.99% is water.

Demographics

As of the census² of 2000, there are 31 people, 17 households, and 8 families residing in the city. The population density is 12.0/km² (31.0/mi²). There are 39 housing units at an average density of 15.1/km² (39.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 100.00% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 3.23% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 17 households out of which 17.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 35.3% are married couples living together, 5.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 52.9% are non-families. 52.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 23.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 1.82 and the average family size is 2.75.
