Dr. Fouad ABOU NADER Son of Antoine Abou Nader and Claude Pierre Gemayel, Fouad Abou Nader was born on June 27, 1956 in Baalbek, in Bekaa. After a schooling with the College Notre-Dame de Jamhour and the college of the Brothers Mount-La-Salle, he joined American University of Beirut but because of the war, he continues his studies at Université Saint-Joseph where he obtained his diploma of medicine in 1982. He adhered to the Kataeb Social Democratic Party at the beginning of the years 1970. Member of the “Bejin” (BG, directed by Bachir Gemayel), represented in the Kataeb Military Council, he took part in 1974 in his first battle against the Palestinians in Dekwaneh. Since 1979, when the Lebanese Forces were borning, he was appointed as head of the operations (third office). He founded with Fady Frem, the Saddem, a troop of elite and also, the wahadet adonis. Right hand of Bachir who become President of the Republic, he reached the post of chief of staff in 1982 and of command in chief of the FL in 1984 after the war of the mountain which devoted his popularity in the rows of the “chabeb”. He launched the cross of the FL the day of Resistance and the logo delta. Between 1985 and 1986, three movement of "intifada" shook the FL. Commander in chief and President of the Council of Command of the FL, “Chef Fouad” refused to pour Christian blood and rejected the agreement of shame (Tripartite) in 1985 and was fortunately only wounded in the attack aiming it in 1986. Chief of the Kataeb regional offices, he opposed to the diktat of Taef in 1989 and the Syrian tutelage(treaty of fraternity, co-operation and coordination) in 1991. Because of his opposition but also of its participation in the gatherings in Baabda against Taef and Syria, he had to leave the Political Office of the Party which had chosen to yield. With Dany Chamoun, he formed the new Lebanese Front which supported the war of liberation of the Lebanese army against Syria. In 1990, the assassination of his companion of always Elias Zayek and Dany Chamoun pushed him to limit his public action. However, he never ceased requiring the end of the Syrian and Israelian occupations and denouncing a corrupted and collaborator Lebanese Regime. He made a discrete return in 2005 during the Revolution of the Cedar, decided to gather the former companions of Bachir Gemayel, the founders and the old executives, members and sympathizers of the Lebanese Forces and studied one moment the possibility of back to the Kataeb Party. Appreciated for his integrity and his “cleanliness”, his “pure and hard” spirit and his intransigence concerning the sovereignty and the independence of Lebanon and freedom, the equality, the safety and the dignity of Lebanese, Abou Nader should carry out his return to the foreground soon within the framework of the launching of its movement which will be based on really democratic principles. This party is called the Liberty Front, Jebhet el Horriye. http://www.jebha.org/ http://www.liberty-front.org/ http://www.ouwet.org/ http://wwww.socialdemocratic.org/kataeb/ |
