Westfield vows to change wheelchair policy (619 words)
Shopping giant Westfield said it would change its wheelchair policy to allow users access to car parks after two disabled brothers were ordered out of wheelchairs and one had to crawl to his car.
The two brothers were made to crawl to their car after security guards at a Melbourne shopping centre refused to let them take wheelchairs through the front entrance, their sister has said.
Sandra Costa said her brothers, aged in their 40s, were in tears after security at Westfield's Fountain Gate shopping centre, in Melbourne's south-east, forced them to discard the borrowed wheelchairs at the entrance.
