Completed in 1987, the construction of Four Seasons Hotel Austin uncovered the Inner Space Caverns along I-35. Designed in a Southwestern motif, the 9-story facility was purposefully built near the Sixth Street District and Congress Avenue, which is listed on the National Register of Historical Places. The hotel is constructed in a combination of flagstone and native art to give it an atmosphere of a warm Texas hacienda – elegance without pretension.
