The Fox Theatre is arguably the most spectacular theatres in St. Louis. Originally opened in 1929 as a movie palace for silent films, the Fox has survived through the years, and is now an incedibly versatile theatre. The Fox Theatre closed in March of 1978 and was purcased by Fox Associates in 1981, the theatre was restored, at a price of at least three million dollars, in comparison, the Fox cost six million dollars to build in 1929. The Fox reopened in the September of 1982 to with the musical "Barnum". The Gateway Arch, shown here behind the Old Courthouse, is the most recognizable part of the St. ...


The Fox currently seats 4,278 theatregoers plus 234 in the private Fox Club.
