Fox Valley

The Fox Valley is a region within Illinois and Wisconsin that borders Chicagoland. This region centers on the Fox River of Illinois and Wisconsin. Around 1 million people live in this area. Despite its rural and largely Republican polity, the people of the Fox River Valley have had a strong tradition of anti-pollution activism, championed in the 1970s by the "Grey Fox," a secretive activist who exposed polluters with various publicity stunts [1].
