Battle of the Bulge

Monument for the Easy Company

In World War II, Foy was occupied by German forces during the Battle of the Bulge. The American 101st Airborne Division held the Bois Jacques just outside of town during the battle. After being relieved by Patton's Third Army, it fell to the 101st to take the town. The assault was spearheaded by Easy Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division, as depicted in Episode 7 of the Band of Brothers mini-series. A simulation of this can be played in the computer game Call of Duty: United Offensive.
