Francestown is a town located in Hillsborough County, New Hampshire. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 1,480.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 79.5 km² (30.7 mi²). 78.1 km² (30.2 mi²) of it is land and 1.4 km² (0.5 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.73% water.

As of the census² of 2000, there are 1,480 people, 552 households, and 418 families residing in the town. The population density is 18.9/km² (49.1/mi²). There are 656 housing units at an average density of 8.4/km² (21.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 97.30% White, 0.07% African American, 0.34% Native American, 0.27% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.47% from other races, and 1.55% from two or more races. 0.54% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
