Francis Dereham was most famous for his affair with Queen Catherine Howard, Fifth wife of Henry VIII of England. This affair lasted until Catherine was made Lady-in-waiting to Henry's third wife Anne of Cleves. Dereham was made a secretary at Hampton Court. After Catherine's affair with Thomas Culpepper, shortly after Catherine's coronation, Dereham, Culpepper and the other men Catherine was said to have been intimate with were executed.
