Boeijen zelf profileerde zich als een bij wijlen bijzonder doorleefd vocalist die met zijn ietwat berookte stem - een stem waarvan je zielsveel houdt of die je steeds weer irriteert, veel tussenweg is er niet - elk liedje van een aparte kleur voorzag.
