Nicknamed "Mr. Zero", Frank was one of the first great American hockey players. Frank helped lead the Bruins to two Stanley Cups in the early 40's. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1966. The Stanley Cup is inscribed with the names of all the players on the teams that have won it. ... Born September 26th, 1915 in Eveleth, Minnesota, Brimsek replaced Cecil "Tiny" Thompson in the Bruins' nets early in the 1938-39 season and went on to win both the Vezina Trophy as the league's top goalie and the Calder Trophy as outstanding rookie.
Brimsek missed two years during World War II while serving in the U.S. Coast Guard in the South Pacific.
