The Department of Administration estimates that the population for the City of Franklin in 2005 was 32,548. Since 2000, the population of Franklin has grown approximately 10 percent. Franklin is one of the fastest growing communities in the state of Wisconsin, and by 2010, Franklin is predicted to have a population close to 39,000. Franklin has an estimated 35% of land still available for development (residential/commercial/office). As of the census^GR2 of 2000, there were 29,494 people, 10,602 households, and 7,697 families residing in the city. The population density was 328.8/km² (851.8/mi²).
