Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow. She is Amuro's next-door neighbor on Side 7 who has made it her personal responsibility to manage his welfare. Before they get caught up in the war, she constantly stops by his house bringing him food and making sure he eats and sleeps and bathes, seeing as his busy business trip-bound father doesn't ever look after Amuro. Frau ends up losing her mother and grandfather in the Zeon attack on their colony, and afterwards she becomes the surrogate mother of the three orphans Katz, Letz and Kikka. And in the rare moments when they aren't by her side, Amuro's ball-shaped robot Haro is always rolling right behind her. At first she usually just served as caretaker for the three orphans while doing anything required of her on the side, but after Sayla becomes a pilot, Frau officially fills Sayla's old job as Bright's communications officer though still looking after Katz, Letz and Kikka.
