Fred Anton Maier won four Olympic medals: Gold in 5000 m at the 1968 Olympics, silver in 10 000 m at the 1968 and 1964 Olympics, and a bronze in 5000 metres in 1964. In 1968 he also became European and World champion. In total, Maier set 11 world records.
