Maas recently published her autobiography, "The Shocking Miss Pilgrim: A Writer in Early Hollywood." Garnering wonderful reviews for the book, Maas has been on tour the past few months plugging her latest writing achievement and attracting the attention of entertainment moguls Ted Turner and Hugh Hefner.
As a young writer, Maas was independent and strong-willed, which resulted in a loss of a job and a label that tainted her reputation for years.
Maas laments how her screenplays, and all screenplays in general, are changed during the filming process.
