Cheating Animal Farm
During the book, many of the animals hated Mr. Frederick, who was known for his notorious deeds. Some of the animals even proposed invading Frederick's farm. However, Napoleon decided to agree to sell his pile of timber to Mr. Frederick, who was more intent upon buying the timber than Mr. Pilkington. Invading Animal Farm After giving the fake banknotes to Napoleon, Mr. Frederick prepared an invasion of Animal Farm, which Napoleon only managed to defeat barely afterwards (see Battle of the Windmill). Armed with several guns, the men managed to repulse the animals and blew up the windmill by drilling blasting powder into the windmill and blowing up the result of two years hard work by the animals. During this invasion, many of the Russians started starving and many were being killed by Germany's better equipped army. The Allies failed to offer much help to the Russians (such as Pilkington's message: "SERVES YOU RIGHT"). However, the Russians managed to defeat the Germans and push them out of the country. In the 1999 live-action film version of Animal Farm, Frederick is depicted as being just as tough ("On my farm, there are no weak men") and also has a Hitler moustache. However, his role in the film is reduced; in one scene, he even expresses sympathy to the starving animals. Edgar Allan Poe grew a moustache later in his life. ...
