Dominguez was born and raised in Texas, with a mixed ancestry of Cuban, Spanish, and German. At age 22, she moved out to Los Angeles. Two or three years after landing in L.A., she had decided to devote full time to her music and, about two months later, met Bruce Somers. They teamed up and formed Kidneythieves, an industrial band, and released two full length albums under the Extasy Records label - Trickster (1998) and Zerøspace (2002). One review of Zerospace said of Dominguez: "Imagine Trent Reznor with breasts and you've got the sound that Kidneythieves vocalist and lyricist Free Domiguez produces." Official language(s) None. ... Music from Kidneythieves' album trickstereprocess (a re-release of their album Trickster) was used in 2003's Ion Storm/Eidos Interactive game Deus Ex: Invisible War. Dominguez also provided the voice for the character of pop-star NG Resonance. The trickster figure Rénert the Fox as depicted in an 1869 childrens book by Michel Rodange. ... After Extasy folded, Kidneythieves disbanded. In 2004, Dominguez released her debut solo album Freedoming as an independent. She is currently working on her second solo album.

The land was in the continuous possession of the Dominguez family through seven generations, from its concession to Juan Jose Dominguez in 1784 to its acquisition by the people of the state of California for the university.
