Freeburg is a village located in Osage County, Missouri, USA. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 423.

Geography

Freeburg is located at 38°19'3" North, 91°55'17" West (38.317387, -91.921356)¹.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 2.1 km² (0.8 mi²). 2.1 km² (0.8 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics

As of the census² of 2000, there are 423 people, 181 households, and 114 families residing in the village. The population density is 199.2/km² (513.1/mi²). There are 205 housing units at an average density of 96.5/km² (248.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 100.00% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.71% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 181 households out of which 30.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.9% are married couples living together, 11.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 37.0% are non-families. 33.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 16.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.34 and the average family size is 2.96.

In the village the population is spread out with 23.2% under the age of 18, 13.5% from 18 to 24, 26.2% from 25 to 44, 21.0% from 45 to 64, and 16.1% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 34 years. For every 100 females there are 98.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 101.9 males.
