Freestyle skiing has been contested at the Winter Olympics since the 1992 Winter Games in Albertville. It was a demonstration sport at the 1988 Winter Olympics, with moguls, aerials, and ballet events. Moguls became an official medal sport at the 1992 games, while aerials and ballet were still demonstration events. At the 1994 games, aerials also became an official medal event and the ski ballet competition was dropped. Freestyle skiing began in the 1930s, when Norwegian skiers began using ski acrobatics in alpine and cross country training. ...
