Encyclopedia > Frerin

In J. R. R. Tolkien's fictional world of Middle-earth, Frerin was a dwarf, the second son of Thráin II and the younger brother of Thorin Oakenshield. Little is known of him except for that he perished at a young age when he joined in the Battle of Azanulbizar in the climatic battle of the War of the Dwarves and Orcs, beneath the East Gate of Khazad-dûm.
