Friedland is a town in the district Mecklenburg-Strelitz, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany. It is a local center for some villages like Kotelow, Luebbersdorf, Schwichtenberg, Dahle and Boldekow, and has approximately 8500 citizens.

It was founded in 1244 by the Kurf�rsten Otto and Johann of Brandenburg, then having the name Vredeland.
