"Friends" is the second song from Led Zeppelin III. It starts out with a little noodling and studio chatter before the song really starts. It is an acoustic folk tune of an almost Celtic nature. Much of the credit for the string-laden background to the song should go to John Paul Jones. The song was also recorded by Jimmy Page and Robert Plant with the Bombay Symphony Orchestra on their 1994 Unledded concert.
