Borchart was Bürgermeister (mayor) of Friesoythe in 1600.
Friesoythe was the border town to trade with Friesland and therefore the North Sea.
According to histories of Friesoythe (written in the 1990s), In the middle of the 16th century, there was another Borchart Tiedeken, known as ``Borchart bi der Porten'' (Borchart by the gate) to distinguish him from this Borchart (Bürgermeister in 1600).
