Our Very First Show

The series begins some time after Pam, DJ's, Stephanie's, and Michelle's mother, was killed in a drunk driving accident. Grandma Tanner (Alice Hirson) helps out as the family grieves. In the premiere, as Grandma Tanner moves out and Jesse and Joey move in, DJ has the hardest time adjusting to the changes. Our Very First Night

Danny has to do the 10pm sports on TV, Joey has to put on a comedy act at the Laugh Machine, and Jesse is supposed to rehearse with his band. Joey and Jesse argue about who should have to stay home. Finally, Joey settles it by racing Jesse to the front door and getting out first. Jesse begrudgingly stays home to watch the girls. The girls decided to take advantage of Jesse by telling him lies about what they can do past their bed time. Jesse then invites his band over to rehearse in the living room. D.J. and Stephanie want to watch it. When Danny arrives back at home, Stephanie and D.J.'s hair is bright purple, and it was past midnight. Yesh..Bright purple!


The First Day of School

Stephanie begins kindergarten but she is upset because she has no friends. Jesse, Joey and Danny went to Stephanie's class to cheer her up. Meanwhile, D.J. is sad because she and Kimmy are in different classrooms. Joey and Jesse starts to sing "Sunrise Sunset" From the Fiddler On The Roof


The Return of Grandma

Danny, Jesse, and Joey risk their mothers living at Danny's when the Tanners have an unexpected visit from Claire.

Joey's Place

Joey goes on a college tour as a stand up comic. He feels left out and unwelcome since he is not a Tanner. When he discovers his belongings are not in the alcove, he assumes that they simply bagged up his belongings and jumps to the conclusion that family wanted him to leave. Little did he know the exact opposite was true. Danny paid a contractor to renovate the garage into a bedroom for Joey.


The Big Three-O

It is Danny's 30th birthday. Jesse bought seat covers for Danny's car Bullet, but on that mission, as of how Jesse said it, some car pulled out in front of Jesse which made him lose control while trying to avoid the crash, Bullet sank to the bottom of the bay. When Danny finds out he is so crushed and feels like nothing without the car that he has had all through his 20's. He calls a car place to try to get a car just like Bullet, but what he does not know is that Jesse and Joey were already planning to get Danny this very car. Jesse and Joey only want to pay $11,700 with the insurance money that Danny received from his ruined car. It ends up getting way out of hand and Danny loses interest in the car. Jesse won, and got the car for Danny. Danny names this Bullet look-alike car, Walter.


Our Very First Promo

The family is chosen to appear in a promotion for the TV studio Danny works for. Unfortunately, he has to change the image of his family by adopting a Chinese girl and having Jesse as his house keeper, and making Stephanie play the cello and D.J. the violin. And Joey is not even in it! At the end, Danny rejects this view, and chooses to show his family as they are. Meanwhile, Stephanie hears a sound she thinks is a monster, so Jesse and Joey try to look for it. They eventually find it at the end to be an American silver-footed ferret 2 1/2 pounds adult male.

  • This episode was postponed from an earlier date. It takes place before Joey's Place, but airs after it. Therefore, Joey still has his room in the alcove, and not in the garage.

This episode now airs before Joey's Place.


Sisterly Love

D.J. does a play at school and Jesse is convinced she would be a good actor. Danny tells D.J. about the cereal commercial he found for oat boats. Excited as ever of course she says "yes"!! D.J. goes to audition and they like her. D.J. goes to do her hair while the manager comes. He found Stephanie in the room doing an oat boat race. He thought she was adorable and said "congratulations, you've got the part." The grudge is on. While Danny goes to work, Joey and Jesse have to cope with their argument. From there it gets worse. Stephanie and D.J. have the biggest fight of all!!! Meanwhile, Joey goes on a low-cholesterol diet.


Half a Love Story

Jesse uses baby Michelle to get a date with Robin, one of Danny's co-workers. Too bad he already "has" a date with his on and off girl who tells Robin of how they met. "Likely story". Robin tells Jesse that she knows his type but soon finds out the she was wrong. But now they know that they can only be friends.


A Pox in Our House

Danny's excited to play basketball with the Golden State Warriors, but when Jesse, Joey and Stephanie come down with the chicken pox, he's left scrambling to find a sitter for Michelle, Because as he says, " I have two babysitters who can't get near the baby", and D.J. is going to her very first slumber party and Danny doesn't want to ruin her day by asking her to skip. Finally D.J. comes home saying the there will be thousands of slumber parties but her dad needed her then.


Trivia: In this episode DJ says that she is going to her first slumber party but in the season 4 episode Slumber Party, Steph says that she went to the Honeybee slumber party when she was eight.


But Seriously Folks

Joey's comedy debut for a talent scout goes sour when Phyllis Diller steals the show, and Joey decides that he wants to give up comedy. But Jesse and Danny have a plan. Jesse goes to the same club and tell the same jokes that Joey had planned for his act, but badly. Joey soon realizes that this is a plan foiled by Jesse and Danny to get him back into comedy, and it works. This article does not cite any references or sources. ...

Danny gets a date with the honey bee hive mother and the girls hate the idea. Meanwhile, Jesse and Joey build a toddler tree house.

Jesse carries a mysterious bag to and from the house. Joey's mother finds a $5000 dollar savings bond, and gives it to Joey. Joey buys a lot of extra unnecessary things, and Danny reminds him that he owes him $800 from 11 years before at Palm Springs when Joey's car broke down. Meanwhile, they find out what is in Jesse's mysterious bag. Jesse has been working at the Smash Club as an Elvis impersonator. Everyone goes to see Jesse and later Joey and Danny are fighting about the money once more. Joey keeps telling Danny to take it, but Danny doesn't want to. They finally settle their differences when they both give Jesse good advice about the Elvis job. Danny ends up keeping the $800.
