Investigators accused Furlow of tipping an unidentified drug trafficker to an August 2002 bust in which the trafficker was expected to sell three pounds of methamphetamines to a federal informant.
Furlow told the trafficker about the ongoing criminal investigation, that the informant worked for the DEA and that the trafficker would be arrested if he participated in the drug deal, according to the indictment.
Furlow was assigned to the DEA's mobile enforcement team, a group of Valley-based agents who assist state and local authorities with drug investigations, Coulson said.
