Futebolism (derived from the Portuguese futebol, meaning football) is a small Australian-based religion which was founded by three football enthusiasts. This religion, unlike most religions worldwide, only has a limited number of members who were selected and recognized by the three original members of the religion known as the "futebol monks". The religion's guidelines are that all members must worship the ball (known as the bola) three times a day and must participate in recreational football almost every day and all members must also have a nickname that resembles their own name but has a hint of foreign spelling and pronunciation or close to a name of a former or current football player.
Anyone who is worthy enough can join but they must undergo a period of 30 days where they must follow the guidelines under supervision of one of the original members.
The religion's members set a huge reputation to keep the faith alive and will not accept those who damage it. Those who do not follow these simple guidelines will be given a dismissal from the religion, at the complete discretion of one of the original members.
