Fuxingmen (复兴门) is situated in central Beijing, and is on the northwestern stretch of the 2nd Ring Road.


Fuxingmen means "Gate of Revival". An overpass over the ring road exists with the same name.


Both Beijing subway lines 1 and 2 stop and interlink at Fuxingmen.


The commercial centre of Xidan, and Beijing Financial Street, are not far away.


Fuxingmen also marks the western end of Fuxingmen Inner Street, which is a western extension of West Chang'an Avenue, and the eastern starting point of Fuxingmen Outer Street.

On December 12, 1992, Line 1 was extended eastwards from Fuxingmen (复兴门) to Xidan (西单).
The second stretch (16.1 km) of the subway was funded by a $165 million (20 billion yen) loan from Japan.
It was first built on the site of the Beijing city wall, and expanded from its south and southwestern parts to form a full loop in the early 1980s.
