GMC Stadium is a minor league facility in Sauget, Illinois (a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri) that serves at the homes for the Gateway Grizzlies of the Frontier League. The Grizzlies' ballpark was built in time for the start of the 2002 season. GMC Stadium features reserved box seating, lawn seating, party suites, two hot tubs and a section of bleacher seating. With the bleacher section added in 2004, the stadium's capacity has increased to 6,000 fans. The ballpark was named 2005 Ballpark of the Year by digitalballparks.com. GMCStadium could have been much better if it were built in a neighborhood instead of alongside an interstate.
But I guess GMCStadium is a good stadium for St. Louisans who've been forced to watch baseball at that horrific hunk of concrete across the river from GMC.
GMCStadium is another very fine stadium, in the fashion of such places as the River City Rascals home, T.R. Hughes Ball Park in nearby O'Fallon Missouri.
