The GPS, Great Public Schools, or Athletic Association of the Great Public Schools of New South Wales (AAGPS) is an association of mostly private boys' schools in New South Wales, Australia that share common interests, ethics, educational philosophy and contest sporting events among themselves. AAGPS was formed at a meeting in a cafe on 30 March 1892. As of 2006, AAGPS has nine members - eight Sydney schools and The Armidale School, a country boarding school. From 1903 to 1921, races were held over whatever distance the host school saw fit. From 1923, the competition was limited to a GPS Relay held by the host school. In 2002, swimming became an official GPS sport. In 2004, the AAGPS began to award a trophy for the Senior premiership.
