Gabby Goat is a animated cartoon character in the Warner Bros. Looney Tunes series of cartoons.
Bob Clampett created Gabby to be a sidekick for Porky Pig in the 1937 short "Porky's Badtime Story" (Clampett's first cartoon as director).
Gabby only appeared in two more cartoons, "Porky and Gabby", where the title characters' campout is foiled by car trouble, and "Get Rich Porky", which has Porky and Gabby digging for oil.
Gabby is in the midst of celebrating his 30th year as a calypsonian.
Thus Gabby wrote: "Barbados is a big joke, with dem big boy in dey big tie and coat." The song was eventually banned from the Barbados airwaves and became the subject of a law suit which never reached the courts because of the death of Tom Adams.
Gabby was one of the first calypsonians out to bat with his musical comment on the issue.
