Education

The are four schools within the city. The public schools in the city limits are Gallia Academy High School and Washington Elementary, both of which belong to the Gallipolis City School District. There also are two christian schools - Ohio Valley Christian High School and Ohio Valley Christian School Elementary. The school district also controls two schools outside of the city limits.


Recreation

Recreation opportunities in Gallipolis are many as long as you know where to look. The vast majority of possibilities involve outdoor recreation. Fishing, swimming, biking, walking, hiking, gardening, and many sports opportunities are all recreational options. Many other types of interests can be met. Local plazas provide a breadth of shopping opportunities. Game Stop, Wal-mart, Blockbuster, antique and craft malls, and a wide variety of local businesses take up residence in Gallipolis. Additionally, many scenic byways and back roads are scattered throughout this village.


Gallipolis's youth recreation is segregated into two types. Sports recreation is any involvement in the school sports of the town. Football is a town favorite. Non-sports recreation may be through the school, such as school dances. The other types of non-sports recreation are normally hanging out at Wal-mart or going to the cinema.
