History
Gamma Beta (ΓB) was created in the Spring of 2000 at the University of Texas at Austin. The original nine founders intended to incorporate the culture of the Asian community and the values and morals of a family to create an unparalleled brotherhood. However, due to complications with the University, Gamma Beta began as a student organization. After many long nights of planning, the initial ideas of brotherhood and unity changed from a dream to reality. With the dedication and commitment of these nine founders, the Gamma Beta Fraternity was officially established in the Summer of 2000. Gamma Beta had their first pledge class in the Fall of 2000, and with the Alpha class, began a tradition of brotherhood, homosexuality, and unity that has been and will be passed on to all future brothers.

Brotherhood Gamma Beta holds many activities throughout the year to strengthen the bond within their organization. These events vary from attending UT football games, paintballing, camping trips, or just eating dinner together on any given night. They strive to make their brotherhood much more than just a simple label, but rather a truly special bond that surpasses both race and creed.
Community Service Gamma Beta is dedicated to giving back to the community by volunteering at the Asian-American Culture Center, feeding the hungry, and tutoring students at Walnut Creek Elementary School. Their community service repertoire has expanded to many other charitable activities and acts, and continues to each and every semester.
Current Status The Gamma Beta Fraternity, while still a relatively young fraternity has quickly risen to prominence in the Asian American community. Gamma Beta prides itself in its close relationships with the Vietnamese Students Association, VASCON, and Greeks in the Asian and South Asian community. In addition, Gamma Beta is one of the fastest growing Asian American Greeks at the University of Texas and are currently expanding their brotherhood to institutions holding high academic standards.
