Gar Samuelson born in 1958 in Dunkirk, New York, was the drummer for the Thrash Metal band Megadeth from 1984 through 1987. His work can be heard on the Megadeth albums Killing Is My Business... And Business Is Good! (1985) and Peace Sells... But Who's Buying? (1986), he performed with the band on tours in USA, Asia and Europe. Since his departure from Megadeth due to substance abuse, Gar has played in one other band. He and his brother Stew along with Billy Brehme, Travis Karcher and Andy Freeman would form Fatal Opera and release a self-titled album in 1995 and the Eleventh Hour in 1997. Gar passed away, reportedly due to liver failure, on July 14, 1999. He was a long time friend of guitarist Chris Poland who said about him: "He was a true friend. Everything I know about time, rhythm and feel I learned from Gar, so I'll always hear his voice in my music." 1958 (MCMLVIII) was a common year starting on Wednesday of the Gregorian calendar. ...
