Garden City is a town located in Glasscock County, Texas. As of the 1990 census, the town had a population of 293. It is the county seat of Glasscock County.
The Garden City post office was established in a store in 1886, and a settlement began around this anchor. In 1893 the buildings were moved just over a mile to a settlement called California, and the County commissioner’s renamed this new site Garden City.
