Encyclopedia > Gary Jarman

Gary Jarman (born 20th October 1980) is bassist and singer in the Wakefield's music group The Cribs. Year 1980 (MCMLXXX) was a leap year starting on Tuesday (link displays the 1980 Gregorian calendar). ... The Cribs are an English 3-piece indie band from Wakefield, West Yorkshire, consisting of twins Gary and Ryan Jarman and their younger brother Ross Jarman. ...

The band consists of his two brothers: Ryan (his twin) and Ross (youngest sibling). Gary is the most political member of The Cribs, and can normally be heard in interviews railing against inequality and misogyny in the Music scene and in the world in general. Misogyny (IPA: ) is hatred or strong prejudice against women; an antonym of philogyny. ...

His first job was working in a vet's practice, however he found the emotional strain too much, and soon realised that he was not destined to administer to animals for a living. His next job was working in his father's toilet paper and serviette factory where he claims that along with his brothers "We were the sole manufacturers of napkins in the UK.".

Gary also revealed recently that he learnt to play the violin and read music at school because he "Liked understanding something that kept me separate, distinct.” In the past He has been prone to melancholy - a condition which may be partly responsible for his recent relocation to Portland, Oregon - but manages to keep this at bay with a keen interest in Scrabble® and Amé (non-alcohlic wine).

Gary once got both his legs trapped in his underpants, a misadventure which led to a minor injury (bruised ego bruisimus egomus).
