Gary confronted Kim, telling her she would be the one blamed for Megan's injuries unless she walked away. Instead, Kim, with the help of her boyfriend Miguel managed to distract Gary and run out of the hospital with Megan. Gary caught up with them, but Miguel knocked him out. They took his keys and escaped in his car. Though Kim and Miguel were initially held for Carla's murder after a patrolman pulled them over and discovered Carla's body in the trunk, the authorities soon confirmed that Gary was responsible. On the run for the police, Gary returned home to get some money before fleeing. His return coincided with Kim returning with a police officer to get her things as well. Gary killed the officer, took his gun, and upon seeing Kim, chased her up to the attic. Kim managed to knock Gary out and take the gun. When he regained consciousness and tried to attack her again, she shot him twice in self defense. |
