Gary Murray is an athlete from Stranorlar, Co. Donegal. He is considered Ireland's top runner.[citation needed]Gary is a former teacher of Physical Education in St. Columb's College in Derry and he now teaches in the nearby St. Joseph's Boys' School. On December 11 2005 he finished 12th in the European Cross Country Championships in Tillburg, Holland. As a juvenile, Murray trained with Finn Valley in Ballybofey but later switched to St. Malachy's when he moved to Belfast to study at the University of Ulster at Jordanstown.
