ATHENS — The gods of boxing frowned on the Philippine team Friday after middleweight Christopher Camat, the first of four fighters to go up in the ring on Saturday, was drawn with the silver medalist of the Sydney Olympics.
Camat, a surprise Olympian who qualified by taking second place in the Palawan Asian boxing Olympic eliminations, was drawn with Russia’s Gaydarbek Gaydarbekov.
