Gaydon is a village in Warwickshire, England, close to Leamington Spa. Since World War II it was the site of a huge RAF air base, home to a number of units of Britain's V bomber force of Vulcans, Victors and Valiants. The airfield was used for operational bombers until 1965 at which point it became home to training squadrons instead.
The station closed in 1974 and the airfield was bought in 1978 by British Leyland, and became a proving ground for its cars. This evolved into the Gaydon centre (where Land Rover has its design headquarters) and the Heritage Motor Centre, a museum of many British cars. Recently Aston Martin built a factory here for its car production.
nly 100 yards from the promenade, the Gaydon is a family run hotel and is within easy reach of the shops, golf courses, pier and public transport.
