Geely Automobile (吉利汽车) was the first independent automobile manufacturer in the People's Republic of China, beginning in 1998, having acquired a minivan maker's licence. The company aims to become the first Chinese automaker to export cars to the United States and in 2005 inked a deal with Malcolm Bricklin to start selling its vehicles by 2006. Models

Most of Geely's range is based on the Xiali TJ7300, which in turn was based on the 1987 Daihatsu Charade.
