Plot
Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow. Depressed over the discovery of something life-changing, a young man decides to move away from his family. He travels to a hill station, where he becomes acquainted with girl who seems to be completely the opposite of himself in every way. They start playing pranks on each other to wind each other up, but eventually form a friendship over time. They soon discover shocking truths about each other that will alter their lives and relationship.
While there is a similarity of terminal illnesses afflicting the fun loving main character(s) between the Hindi movie Anand and Telugu movie Geethanjali, there are important differences too. For instance in Anand, Rajesh Khanna - the hero character has no lover while in Geethanjali that element constitutes the backbone of the story. Also, there is no major role for friends in Geethanjali, while in Anand, Amitabh Bachan's character as a friend is a very crucial part of the story.
