Geir Karlstad (born July 7 , 1963 ) is a retired Norwegian speed skater . Among the dominating speed skaters in the 1980's, he failed at the 1984 and 1988 Winter Olympics . However, he got his "revenge" at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville , winning the gold medal in 5,000 metres and the bronze in 10 000 metres.
