General Abelardo L. Rodríguez International Airport in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, is that country's northernmost airport. Its IATA Airport Code is TIJ.


It is known worldwide because of the landings the airport offers. Since the landing runway is located right next to the fence that separates Tijuana from San Diego, California, United States, jets landing at Tijuana (TIJ), must just pass over the fence before touching down.


Tijuana's airport is not a hub for any airline, but it is a center for jet flights within northern Mexico, and there are several flights coming in from other parts of the country, such as Mexico City and Guadalajara, for example.
