In recent times the general Genoa neighboorhood located around Almeda Genoa has a seen a small rise in crime. Many of the children that have grown up ther in the past 20 years are beginning to turn to street crimes, and have caused the HPD to patrol the streets on a daily basis. Most of the children stay around the Gulf Palms park, located down the street and over a block from Genoa Elementary. This is their playing ground. >>From a Genoa Township Resident: "I am the head of the Citizen Patrol Orginization for this area, and crime is not that bad. There are no patrolling police, and the only people who frequent the park are the joggers on the track, and the Sunday soccer players.
