The International Exhibition Genoa '92 Colombo '92 took place from 15 May to 15 August 1992 in Genoa, Italy. The theme was "Christopher Columbus, The Ship and the Sea." It was a specialised Exhibition with 54 countries represented. Total visitors were 1694 (as per BIE website).

Situated mostly on a floating ocean platform called the Aquapolis, the theme of oceans would be repeated at Genoa's Expo '92 and Lisbon's Expo '98.
The island had just recently been under U.S. control, so much of the impetus behind holding the exposition was to celebrate it's becoming, once again, part of Japan.
